NIC was created, along with NIC6, as water treatment compounds that address a combination of issues from rust and mineral staining (iron, calcium, magnesium, etc.) to plugging in micro-jet and mist nozzles.
NIC
Use NIC for situations where irrigation water has high mineral content (NIC6 should be used for medium mineral content and other common fouling issues).
NIC is manufactured with the most up-date mixture of organophosphonates, surfactants and stabilizers.
Organophosphonates
The organophosphonates allow NIC to sequester cationic ions (iron, magnesium, calcium, manganese) thereby neutralizing and suspending them.
When suspended, the ions are unable to bond, form scale and plug nozzles and emitters. They can then pass harmlessly through the system.
