Flo-Tec has developed a new, exceptionally powerful soap cleaner, AG Star. It’s designed to safely, gently, but thoroughly remove the highest levels of soil and organic dirt loads, leaving you with clean fruits and vegetables.
AG Star is very effective with foam washers in flumes and dump tanks or with low-pressure spray nozzles. It’s unique because of its strength and versatility and because AG Star was designed to be used in combination with Peroxy Punch, our EPA-approved sanitizing product.
This mix is a great option for cleaning heavy organic/soil loads and for providing a highly effective sanitizing treatment and unsurpassed food safety protection against microbial pathogens that can be present in fruits and vegetables.
Dump tank and flume wash water quality and sanitizer strength are important factors that influence the appearance and safety of the fruit and vegetables. To achieve a complete sanitizing rinse of the product in the “kill step,” it’s imperative to remove all soil, dirt, film, and contaminants on the surface of the produce.
This step is necessary for the sanitizing agent, such as Peroxy Punch, to come in complete contact with 100% of the product surface. Applied at the correct PPM rate to the clean surface of the produce, Peroxy Punch will achieve a 5-log kill (99.999%) with one minute of contact time.
The dilution rate in foam washers, spraying systems, or dump tanks is only 0.15 oz per gallon of water. The product should be submerged or in contact with the dilution for only 15 to 30 seconds. The produce is then sanitized via a spray application of Peroxy Punch sanitizer.
